Regulations

• Only official staff and judges may host and judge shows.
• Breeds are judged by FCI standards. For non-FCI breeds we use UKC standards.

• Some breeds are judged based on varieties. Check them here!

• TS4 dogs compete seperately from TS3 dogs.

• Judge may not traditionally judge a dog he/she owns/owned or has bred/co-bred.
• Dogs should be shown with a show lead. Handlers attire should be appropriate.
• Always carefully read and follow the rules of each show regarding entering dogs.

• You do not need to register dogs so you can start showing right away!

Classes

• Junior (from 9 to 15 months)
• Intermediate (from 15 to 24 months)
• Open (24 months and over)
• Champion (9 months and over) - only dogs with a conformation title may enter.
• Working (15 months and over) - only dogs with a sporting title may enter.
• Veteran (8 years and over)

Grades

• Excellent (EXC) - Dog that comes very close to the ideal standard of the breed.
• Very Good (VG) - Dog that possesses the typical features of its breed.
• Good (G) - Dog that possesses the main features of its breed.
• Sufficient (S) - Dog which corresponds adequately to its breed.
• Disqualified (DIS) - Dog which does not correspond to the type required by the breed standard or a dog that show disqualifying faults in regard to the breed standard.
• Can't Be Judged (CBJ) - Dog can't be judged fully (missing picture, judge is breeder etc.).

Awards

• BIS - Best In Show
• BIG - Best In Group
• BOB - Best of Breed
• BOS - Best of Opposite Sex
• CAC - You need these for titles
• CACIB - You need these for the C.I.B. title (only Traditional shows)

Show Procedure

1. Dogs are entered in a show to a specific class.
2. Each dog gets a grade (randomized or compared to standard).
3. Dogs graded EXC compete for CAC within their breed, class and sex.
4. Best dog and bitch compete for BOB and BOS.
5. BOBs of all breeds compete for the Best In Group.
6. BIGs of all groups compete for Best In Show.


* Additionally in traditional shows CACIB is awarded to the best dog and bitch of each breed. Junior and Veteran dogs may not receive CACIB nor dogs who are already C.I.B.

Show Types

• All Breed Show - All breeds may enter.
• Group Show - Only breeds from selected groups may enter.

• Country Show - Only Champion dogs my enter and earn country titles.
• Brace Show - All breeds may enter. Brace contains of two dogs of the same breed and different sex.
• Kennel Showcase - All breeds may enter. Group must consist of dogs of the same breed.
• Breeder Showcase - All breeds may enter. Group must consist of dogs who are related to each other.
• Champion Gala - Only dogs who gained their title during the past year may enter.
